5. Type a title in the text box and choose OK, or just press the

OK/Enter button on top of the spectrometer to accept the
default.

Since the experiment you are using specifies that a background
be collected before every sample, a message appears asking you
to prepare to collect a background spectrum:

For a transmission experiment this means that you need to
remove any accessories (other than a standard sample holder)
and samples from the sample compartment, as explained in the
next steps. A sample might be installed in the transmission
