Step 6: Installing the Interface Adapter Pod
1-16
The interface adapter pod has three woven cables labeled JP3, JP4, and JP5
(see Figure 1–11). Follow these steps to connect the XDS511 to the
XDS522/XDS522A:
1) Turn off the power to your host PC, disconnect the JTAG cable from the
XDS511, and disconnect the 5-V @ 3-A power supply from the XDS511.
2) Attach the woven cables on the interface adapter pod to the 50-pin con-
nectors on the front of the XDS522/XDS522A. Connect the cables in the
following order:
a) Connect cable JP5 to the bottom connector.
b) Connect cable JP4 to the middle connector.
c)
Connect cable JP3 to the top connector.
Note:
The connectors on the woven cables fit snugly. Ensure that they are pushed
in completely.
3) Connect the interface adapter pod to the XDS511. The interface adapter
pod has two 60-pin connectors labeled JP1 and JP2. Connect them to the
two 60-pin connectors labeled JP2 and JP3 on the bottom of the XDS511.
JP1 on the pod connects to JP3 on the XDS511 and JP2 on the pod con-
nects to JP2 on the XDS511. (See Figure 1–11.)
4) Reconnect the JTAG cable to the XDS511. For information about the pow-
er supply, see Section 1.9 on page 1-17.
