10. EXTENSION’S CONFIGURATION
10.1. Introduction
Extension means a PBX number programmed on T40. It is not necessary an exactly real correspondence
between all PBX extensions and T40 extension.
You can create virtual extension in T40 that are not really present in PBX numeration plan, as example, one
extension is used as answering machine for a company Brach, or a group number, etc.
T40 extension’s configuration is useful for:

possibility to reach an extension by dialing its number
•
activate its personal voice mail box for personal message recording
In general it is preferred that for each reachable PBX extension, a relative number on T40 exists. In this case
T40 check if the caller select an existing extension, preventing errors. It is also possible set T40 to simply try
to connect caller to the dialed extension without check if it exist.
10.2. Extension’s management
A management window allows you to create, modify or cancel any extension. To activate extension’s
management, press “M” from the main menu (modify extension) or “C” (creation extension). In modify
window, if <enter> is pressed a list of programmed extension is showed:
