15. MESSAGE NOTIFICATION
15.1. Introduction
When an extension is busy or no answering, T40 can record a caller message that will be inserted in
extension mailbox. If notification is not settled up, then the extension owner will have to periodically call T40
to know about new messages.
Thanks to notification function, T40 notify to mailbox owner new message presence, by calling his extension
(or other programmed number).
Notify is active in time, day, week slots and each extension may choose to turn on or off message notify.
15.2. Configuration
From main menu, choose “N” (Notification settings):
Notifications lines
T40 lines to be used to notify. Normally you must assign only one line for this function, but,
in case of heavy notify traffic, it is possible to use all T40 available lines (note that during notify those line are
not available for incoming calls).
Weekday enabling
to set in which days of the week message notify is active. Enable bands 1 to 4 define
notify time slots. (T40 does not call users during launch time or over the nigth time)
Duration
how many seconds the notify attempt will run, or better, how many seconds T40 has to wait for
extension answer.
Separation
how many seconds T40 must wait between two notify attempt (for example 600 seconds for 10
minutes).
Number of retry
a maximum number of calls to be done for notify messages. After this number of calls will be
done notify for this event will expire. When the mailbox owner enter to his T40 mailbox, reset this service. If
T40 reaches the end of retry, new messages will not restart the notification but the user has first to call is
mailbox.
Repeting of message
the number of times that T40 repeats the notice voice prompt when it gets answer.
