8. SYSTEM MENU
8.1. Introduction
The system menu contains all messages and choices available to a caller. Simplest menu is one row menu
and it is only composed by the presentation message.
More structured menu can be created in a simply manner adding new levels with different messages and
choices, in a tree configuration. The caller will navigate menu by DTMF digit commands.
An example of simplest (DAY) menu could be:
“Good morning, you are connected with XYZ Company, if you know the extension number desired, please
dial it now or hold the line for the operator, thank you…”
More articulated menu could be:
“Good morning, you are connected with XYZ Company, if you know the extension number desired, please
dial it now or press 3 for the company extension’s list. Please wait for the operator, thanks…”
Now, if the caller has pressed “3”, he reach the second menu level:
“Extension’s list, dial the extension number in any moment. Mr Smith 110, Miss. Power 112, ….”
Normally, for the first menu, a short message is suggested. This in order to speed up T40 occasional callers
management avoiding them wasting time. For the following menus (intentionally selected by the callers) a
detailed and more complete messages are suggested, to indicate all opportunities to the caller.
8.2. Menu
management
System menus can be created or modified at any time. A powerful edit function allows create offline several
menu, test them and finally make them alive to serve callers. The system can manage a maximum of 20
menus.
To open the menu management window press “S” on main window:
You can create a new menu, modify or delete an existing one. To create a new menu, insert the menu
name. To modify an existing one, insert its correct name.
