TX001-00-00 Rev 101 QuickSilver DV202S Video Transmitter
Using Audio
The use of audio can greatly enhance the system in many ways. Audio should be used for communication with
personnel at the camera site.
Warning: Audio is designed to provide two-way communication and should not be used as a covert
listening tool.
Audio components are microphones, speakers, amplifiers and relays. Speakers are used at both sites to listen
to the audio generated by a microphone at either site. An amplifier is used when the distance between the
Transmitter and the speakers or microphone will exceed 50 feet or when multiple speakers or microphones
will be enabled simultaneously. Relays are used where it is necessary to have multi-channel audio. For
example, it might be desired to have more than one microphone at a single camera location or it may be
useful to have audio capability at each camera in a given system.
Basic Audio Using Relays
Basic audio is defined as the use of one set of speakers and a microphone at the Receiver Site to establish
one half-duplex connection between the Transmitter and Receiver. The 2 onboard relays in the Transmitter
are used to provide control of the remote microphone and speaker set. Refer to Figure 28 for the applicable
diagram.
