Front Panel Option Selection

NETWORK LINE INTERFACE

This option setting determines the T1 network line interface which may 
be either CSU or DSX-1.

When the CSU T1 network line interface is selected, the amount of line 
build-out (LBO) must also be selected. LBO is an artificial line circuit 
that provides line attenuation. The amount of LBO depends on the 
distance to the last T1 line repeater. The telephone company providing 
the service determines the amount of LBO required. The following 
ranges are available:

0 dB

-7.5 dB

•

-15dB

When the DSX-1 T1 network interface is selected, the line build-up is 
determined according to the line length. The following ranges are avail-
able:

0-133 ft

•

133-266 ft

•

266-399 ft

•

399-533 ft

•

533-655 ft

DTE PORT OPTIONS

V.35 or RS-530 Interface Card 

This submenu allows viewing and changing the DTE port operating 
characteristics. Options accessed by this submenu include:
