Removal and Installation Procedures

TLA600 Series Logic Analyzer Service Manual

Replacing the CPU Board

To replace the CPU board, follow these instructions:

Remove the trim and covers by following the procedure on page 6--7.

Remove the floppy disk drive following the procedure on page 6--26.

Remove the CD ROM drive following the procedure on page 6--28.

Remove the six

inch nut posts that secure the three D-type connectors to

the rear chassis.

Remove the four T-15 Torxdrive screws that secure the CPU board to the
rear chassis.

Remove the four T-15 Torxdrive screws that secure the CPU board to the
support bracket.

Lift the CPU board out of the bracket by disconnecting it from the riser
adapter board connector.

Remove the two T-15 Torxdrive screws that secure the riser board to the
CPU board, and remove the riser adapter board.

Replace the old CPU board with the new CPU board and reconnect the riser
board with the two T-15 Torxdrive screws.

10.

Place the CPU board back into the chassis by connecting the riser board into
the riser adapter board connector.

11.

Secure the CPU board to the chassis with the four T-15 Torxdrive screws.

12.

Secure the six

inch nut posts to the three D-type connectors.

13.

Replace the CD ROM drive following the procedure on page 6--28.

14.

Replace the floppy disk drive following the procedure on page 6--26.

15.

Install the covers and trim following the procedures that start on page 6--6.

16.

Verify the operation by following the procedure on page 6--40.
