^5 )G N D   Connector—Provides  direct  connection  to 

instrument  chassis ground.

( s i)   EXT  Z  AXIS  INPUT Connector—Provides a  means of 

connecting  external  signals  to  the  Z-axis  amplifier 
to  intensity  modulate  the  crt  display. Applied signals 

do  not  affect  display  waveshape.  Signals  with  fast 
rise  time  and  fall  time  provide  the  most  abrupt 

intensity  change. 

Positive-going 

signals  decrease 

the  intensity,  and  a  5-V  p-p  signal  w ill  produce 

noticeable  modulation.  Z-axis  signals  must  be  time- 
related  to  the  display  to  obtain  a  stable  presentation 

on the crt.
