OFFICIAL CHECKS AND INSPECTIONS BY COMPETENT BODIES
The instrument can only be officially checked and inspected by one of the following bodies:
•
Nexion spa
•
Technicians authorised by Nexion spa
•
C.S.R.P.A.D. (National vehicle and equipment research and testing centre) Rome
•
Local C.P.A. (Vehicle testing centres)
•
Other recognised certification bodies
Once installed and checked, the equipment can be checked at any time by the competent
authorities.

OPACIMETER PERIODIC INSPECTION
The equipment must be absolutely inspected within one year from the date of the last check
recorded in the equipment logbook “Libretto metrologico”.
The expiry date of the periodic inspection is always printed by the equipment in the test printouts.
Subsequent checks must be carried out after one year at latest, after any repair and must be carefully
noted in the equipment logbook “Libretto metrologico”. It is important that the technician
authorised to carry out the inspection updates the expiry date of the periodic inspection in
accordance with the procedures.

UPKEEP OPERATIONS
CAUTION: Make sure that the power supply is cut off before
performing any internal maintenance work. Never touch electrical parts
until the power has been switched off.
CAUTION: Do not allow the use, access to internal parts of the machine
and maintenance to authorised technical personnel who are not familiar
with the instructions in this manual.
CAUTION: Do not use tools or other materials that are not suitable for
repairs.

CLEANING OPTICAL PARTS
This must be done on a daily basis or at least when requested by the instrument.
CAUTION: Before starting any upkeep operation, the instrument must
be switched off and the power cable disconnected from the mains.
The opacimeter cleaning operations consist in cleaning the mirror and the protective glass of the
optical parts. You just need a piece of clean soft cloth: clean both the mirror and the lens a few
times. To easily access the optical parts, simply turn the instrument over so as to have easy access to
the back side.
Take the specific felt to clean optical parts
(lenses, glasses) to start cleaning operations.
