Connections
DANGER!
There is a residual danger of trapped fingers. Never attempt to reach into a tool before
switching off the machine completely.
WARNING!
•
The HV crimping machine should only be set up and operated when it is fully
functional by personnel who are aware of the safety and hazard issues involved.
•
Before using the machine for the first time check that all safety devices, in
particular the protective panels are fitted and are in good working order. The
crimping machine must only be operated with the tool and the corresponding
protective panel fitted.
•
Protective panels and tools must only be removed when the machine is non-
operational and has been disconnected electrically.
•
Only one person should operate the machine at any time. Work carefully!
•
In the event of a malfunction or an accident, press the reset button immediately.
The reset button must remain within direct access of the operator at all times. It
must not be covered.
The HV crimping machine is supplied from the factory ready for operation, apart from ventilation and
calibration.
1. Connect the hydraulic system with the hydraulic hoses (Figs. 11 and 12 item 2).
2. Connect the crimping machine to the hydraulic unit (Fig. 12 item 1).
3. Connect the power supply with the mains cable (Fig. 11 item 3) and check the direction of rotation of
the hydraulic pump. . The direction is indicated by an arrow (Fig. 11 item 5) on the motor housing
cap. Clockwise is the correct direction.
NOTE:
If the direction of rotation is INCORRECT, the connector leads must be corrected by a
qualified electrician.
