Cartridge Eject
The Eject button is normally used to activate the automatic cartridge eject system. An Eject
operation is initiated by pushing the Eject button in a normal fashion. An Eject operation will
be ignored in the following two situations:
• A Prevent Media Removal condition exists (see the
Tandberg SLR7, SLR50,
SLR60, SLR75, SLR100, SLR140 SCSI Interface - Functional Specifications)
• The Drive is performing a stand-alone selftest
In all other situations, operating the Eject button will result in the following:
• The ongoing command is terminated and buffered data will be written to the tape
• If the tape format supports a Device Directory and the cartridge is
not
write
protected, the tape is rewound to BOT and the Device Directory is updated
• The cartridge is ejected
NOTE:
The time from the Eject button is activated until the cartridge is ejected may vary depending on the
actual ongoing command. Up to 4 minutes if a rewind operation is required before Eject.
Service Mode
Service Mode is entered by keeping the Eject button pressed for 6 seconds or more. In
Service mode the LED indicators changes to a slow-blinking mode (see Appendix C3).
When in Service mode the user may select a certain Service Entry by successive single clicks
of the Eject button. The current entry number is indicated by the LED’s (see Appendix C3).
A service function can be activated by double-clicking the Eject button (or in some cases, like
the Standalone Diagnostics function, by inserting a tape cartridge).
Currently two service functions are available: the
Standalone Diagnostic
test and
Reset of the
Drive
. The Standalone Diagnostic test is assigned to Service Entry 1. Se section 10.5
Standalone Diagnostics for details.
Reset of the Drive
is assigned to Service Entry 7.
If the button is not clicked for 15 seconds, the Eject button reverts back to its original cartridge
eject function.
