Cabling
General
We recommend that you try to route all cables to and from the T801-4 along
the side of the cabinet so the cooling airflow required for any other
equipment is not restricted.
Cables should be well supported so that the connectors or terminals on the
T801-4 and on the ends of the cables do not have to support the full weight
of the cables.
GPS Antenna Cable
Connect the Trimble Bullet III active antenna to the
GPS ANT
connector on
the rear panel using a 50
Ω
coax cable such as RG58, RG223, RG213 or
similar. Terminate one end with a male SMA connector and the other end
with a male TNC connector.
The maximum length of the GPS antenna cable will depend on the type of
coax cable used and the temperature conditions. The table below lists the
maximum cable lengths for worst-case temperature conditions (–30°C).
If you need to use longer cable lengths, you must add line amplifying
equipment to the system.
GPS Receiver Cable
(PORT A)
Connect the optional Dalman 40742 GPS antenna/receiver to this port
using the 30m cable supplied with the receiver. If you need to use a longer
cable, 15m extensions are available separately as Tait part number
T801-40-0015. These can be joined together up to a maximum length of
105 m.
