Press the
open/close
(1)
button beside the disc door or
eject
on the
remote and the door will slide open. Do not force it by hand as
this will damage the mechanism and will switch the DVD32R into
standby.
Before using your DVD32R for the first time remove the transit
protection as explained on page 11. This is attached at the
factory to protect the disc mechanism from damage during transit.
Put a disc on the drive turntable
(2)
with its label facing
up, and place the disc clamp over the centre of the disc.
Placed correctly the magnetic forces will pull the disc
clamp securely down. Press
play
(3)
to close the cover
and start the disc playing. If you forget to place the disc
clamp the DVD32R will not be able to read the disc and
might even destroy it.
After a few seconds the disc will start playing.
If the disc is not loaded correctly, is dirty or faulty, the display will
show the message
cannot read disc
. If this happens, open the
door and clean or re-seat the disc. Don’t forget to replace the disc
clamp over the centre of the disc in order for it to play.

1. Should the DVD32R be in standby, pressing the
open/close
key will ‘wake up’
the DVD32R and will then automatically, after it carried out its diagnostics, open
the door. Whilst waiting to open its door, the DVD32R will flash the red IR
acknowledgment LED on its front panel.
2. The drive turntable is the part of the mechanism on which a disc sits, located in
the centre of the tray
3. If the
play
key is pressed, when the player is in standby, the DVD32R will wake
up from standby and will, after the initialisation is over, start playing a disc (if
one was loaded).
