Getting Connected
6. On your computer, click Start > Settings > Control
Panel .
7. Double-click Phone and Modem Options .
8. Click the Modems tab. Select the new modem from
the Modems list, then click OK .
Dial-up and connect to the Internet
Once the notebook recognizes your phone as a modem, you
can now set up a dial-up connection. You will then be able to
access the Internet on your notebook using your phone.
To dial-up and connect to the Internet
1. On your notebook, click Start > Settings > Control
Panel .
2. Double-click Network Connections .

File > New Connection
.
4. In the New Connection Wizard, click Next .
5. Click Connect to the Internet then click Next .
6. Select Set up my connection manually then click
Next .
7. Select Connect using a dial-up modem then click
Next .
8. Select the modem that you installed in the previous
procedure then click Next .
9. Enter a descriptive name for your ISP then click Next .
10. If you are connecting to the Internet via GPRS, enter
the telephone number as *99#. Otherwise, enter your
ISP‘s dial-up phone number. Then click Next .
11. Under Internet Account Information, you may not need
to enter a user name and password when using GPRS.
Just click Next to proceed.
12. Click Finish to exit the wizard.
