Battery Back-up Option Installation
The Battery back-up (TMA017) is a 500 mA-Hr pack consisting of 7 Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-
Cd) cells shrink-wrapped and connected in series for a 8.4 VDC nominal voltage. The pack
includes wires and a connector to plug into the power board. The Ni-Cd cells are a high-
temperature type which offer superior performance for trickle charge stand-by use over
standard cells. The battery pack is shipped uncharged and must be installed and charged in
the unit for 48 hours before it reaches rated capacity.
The battery pack is attached to the power I/O board with the supplied pressure sensitive
Velcro
on page 3-29 and the following instructions to
install the battery pack:
1. Attach the Velcro
hook pads to the battery pack as shown.
2. Press the Velcro loop pads onto the hook material then remove the adhesive backing
from the loop pads.
3. Turn the battery pack over and affix it to the power board as shown.
4. Plug the battery connector into P1 on the power board and install a jumper (B) into
