FMT 3000 Hardware Reference Guide - Option Installation and Operation

Figure 3-6 illustrates how the magnetic stripe reader bracket mounts to the Flat Wall Mount
using the supplied hardware (2 flat head screws, 2 star washers and 2 hex nuts).

Figure 3-6. Attaching the Magnetic Stripe Reader Bracket to the Flat Wall Mount

illustrates how to mount the magnetic stripe reader to the bracket and how to

route the interface cable. To mount the reader to the bracket:

1. Remove the plug from the cable access hole on the computer.
2. Remove the screws on the back of the reader.
3. Secure the reader to the bracket with the supplied replacement screws which are

slightly longer than the screws that were just removed.

4. Plug the cable connector into the PS/2 external keyboard connector (J10) as shown.

The cable should route between the foam pads in the cable routing area. Refer to Chapter 4,
Bar Coding, of the FMT 3000 Software Manual for magnetic stripe reader programming
information.
