Operating the unit in an equipment rack
If you plan to install the Symantec Gateway Security 4400 Series in an
equipment rack, use these precautions:

■

Ensure the ambient temperature around the appliance (which may be
higher than the room temperature) are within the specified limits.

■

Ensure there is sufficient air flow around the unit.

■

Ensure electrical circuits are not overloaded; consider the nameplate
ratings of all the connected equipment and ensure you have
overcurrent protection.

■

Ensure the equipment is properly grounded, particularly any
equipment connected to a power strip.

■

Do not place any objects on top of the appliance.
