This chapter contains information about installing the appliance, connecting it
to the network, and turning on the power. Before you start you should have a
pre-installation security plan. See

“Developing a pre-installation security plan”

on page 55.

You can install the Symantec Clientless VPN Gateway 4400 Series either free-
standing or in a rack.
