2-22 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE

REAR BRAKE PEDAL FREE TRAVEL

Adjust the rear brake pedal free travel as follows:

MAJOR ADJUSTMENT

• Turn the adjuster nut

so the rear brake pedal has 20 – 30

mm (0.8 – 1.2 in) free travel at the rear brake pedal end
before pressure is felt.

Rear brake pedal free travel

20 – 30 mm (0.8 – 1.2 in)

MINOR ADJUSTMENT

• Loosen the lock-nut

• Turn adjuster nut

so the rear brake pedal has 20 – 30 mm

(0.8 – 1.2 in) free travel at the rear brake pedal end before
pressure is felt.

• Tighten the lock-nut

Rear brake pedal Free travel

20 – 30 mm (0.8 – 1.2 in)

• Adjust the rear brake light switch so that the brake light will

come on just before pressure is felt when the brake pedal is
depressed.
