Removing the Chassis Cover

You can access some chassis components, such as fans, by removing the cover.

Removing the Chassis Cover

1. Power down the power supplies as described in Section 5-2.

2. Remove the two screws that secure the top cover onto the chassis as shown

above.

3. Lift the top cover up and off the chassis.

Caution

: Except for short periods of time, do not operate the server without the

cover in place. The chassis cover must be in place to allow proper airflow and

prevent overheating.
