Defi nitions

SMC-Proprietary Add-On Card Slot for PWR Supply/FP Control/SATA
Connections

JF2 is an SMC-Proprietary Add-On card slot to provide power supply, front panel

control, and SATA connections. The BPN-ADP-6SATA3P-O-P adapter cardis

supported by this motherboard. These adapter cards are designed specifi cally for

use with Supermicro's server chassis. For your system to work properly, be sure to

have an appropriate adapter card installed in JF2 on your motherboard.

Universal Serial Bus Ports

Two Universal Serial Bus ports (USB

0/1) are located on the I/O back

panel. In addition, a USB header,

located next to the LAN controller,

provides two front-accessible USB

connections (USB 2/3). In addition,

a Type A USB connection (USB 4),

located next to the USB 2/3 header,

also provides front panel USB support

on the motherboard. (Cables are not

included.) See the tables on the right

for pin defi nitions.
