Chassis Components

3-1 Overview

This chapter describes the most common components included with your chassis.
Some components listed may not be included or compatible with your particular
chassis model. For more information, see the installation instructions detailed later
in this manual.

3-2 Components

Chassis

The SC823M chassis includes three hard drive bays and depending upon specific
models, your chassis may include one slim DVD-ROM and one slim COM port/
USB tray. For the latest chassis components, visit our website at:

Backplane

Each SC823M chassis comes with a SAS(3)/SATA backplane. For more informa-
tion regarding compatible backplanes, view the appendices found at the end of
this manual. In addition, visit our website for the latest information:

Fans

The SC823M chassis accepts four system fans with an option for two additional
fans. System fans for the SC823M chassis are powered from the serverboard. These
fans are 1U in height and are powered by 4-pin connectors.
