Preserving operational readiness

Checking the engine oil level

NOTE

The truck must be positioned on level ground

for this test.

–

Open the bonnet.

–

Pull out the oil dipstick (1) and wipe it.

–

Insert the oil dipstick as far as it will go and

pull it out again.

The oil level must be between the marks (ar-

rows).

–

If the oil level reaches only up to the lower

mark, unscrew the filler cap (2) and top up

the oil. Do not top up beyond the upper

mark.

–

Observe the information regarding the

quantity and specification of the motor oil in

the chapter entitled "Maintenance data ta-

ble".

–

Insert the oil dipstick as far as it will go.

–

Screw the filler cap back on tightly.

–

Close the bonnet.

NOTE

Remove spilt oil immediately using oil binding

agent and dispose of the oil in accordance

with the applicable regulations.


