De-ice the evaporator via the coolant
circulation
DANGER
Risk of fire! If the engine stalls before it has used
up the residual gas, residual gas can remain in the
evaporator. This cooled gas expands upon heating
and is conveyed into the engine. From the engine,
the gas can be conveyed further into the exhaust
system. When the next start attempt occurs, the
gas in the exhaust system may ignite, or smoulder-
ing particles may shoot out of the exhaust pipe.
If the truck stalls when in the vicinity of combustible
or easily flammable materials, do not attempt to start
the truck in this area. Tow the truck out of the danger
area before attempting to start the truck again. Make
sure that there are no people or objects in the area
behind the exhaust.

Close the valve on the gas cylinder.

Disconnect the plug (1) from the gas shut-
off valve. The gas shut-off valve is closed.
The gas flow to the evaporator is blocked.

Attempt to start the engine again using the
key switch. If the engine starts, leave it run-
ning until it stalls again due to the lack of
gas.

Once the engine has stalled, wait for two
minutes then start the engine again, allow-
ing it to run until it stalls again.

Once the engine has stalled again, reinsert
the plug (1) into the gas shut-off valve. Start
the engine again and allow it to run.

If the engine runs steadily while idling, after
approx. 15 seconds slowly open the valve
on the gas cylinder and allow the engine to
idle so that it reaches operating tempera-
ture.

