Short-term operation

NOTE

If the truck is operated frequently and only for

short periods, the cooling circuit of the engine

cannot reach the operating temperature. The

evaporator of the LPG system is heated by the

coolant circuit of the engine. This prevents the

evaporator from icing over because gas cools

significantly upon evaporation. The gas supply

can be interrupted if the evaporator ices over.

This causes the engine to come to a halt.

The evaporator can ice over as a result of:

●

Frequent operation for short periods

●

High engine loads at low ambient tempera-

tures

NOTE

Avoid short-term operation and high motor

loads in low ambient temperature wherever

possible. If necessary, run the engine until the

operating temperature is reached.

If the engine stalls suddenly and does not start

again, check whether the evaporator has iced

over and de-ice the evaporator as necessary;

refer to the section entitled "De-icing the evap-

orator".
