Pull the protective cap off the end of

the drive tube and keep it in a safe

place for later use – see "Storing the

Power Tool".

Preparations

Place the powerhead on the ground

so that it rests securely on the

machine support (1). Position the

end of the drive tube (2) horizontally

or rest it on a raised support.

Mounting the Gearbox

Loosen the clamp screws (1) on the

gearbox – do not remove them.

Push the gearbox (2) onto the drive

tube (3) – turn it back and forth at

the same time until the end of the

drive tube is no longer visible in the

slot (arrow) – then push fully home

as far as stop.

Line up the gearbox on the drive

tube so that the machine support on

the engine faces down and the

gearbox cover (4) away from the

user – the gearbox cover and

muffler (5) must face in the same

direction.

NOTICE

Over-tightening can damage the drive

tube.
