10.3.4 Solid fuel boiler
Controls a pump in order to heat a storage tank using a solid fuel boiler.
The pump is switched on when all of the following conditions are satis-
fied at the same time:
• The temperature difference between the solid fuel boiler and the
storage tank exceeds

• The solid fuel boiler temperature lies above the
min. solid fuel boiler
temperature .
• The storage tank temperature lies below the max. storage tank
temperature .
The pump is switched off when one of the following conditions is satisfied:
• The temperature difference between the solid fuel boiler and the
storage tank drops below

• The solid fuel boiler temperature drops below the min. solid fuel
boiler temperature .
• The storage tank temperature reaches the max. storage tank tem-
perature.
Speed control of the pump can be activated as required. The loading
strategy of the speed control system attempts to regulate the tempera-
ture of the solid fuel boiler to match the control target that has been set.
The control target should be at least 20 F above the minimum tempera-
ture of the solid fuel boiler.
