VERTEBRADYN® VARIO is a lumbar support brace for mobilising the lumbar spine.
INdIC AT IoNS
• Herniated disc
• After intervertebral disc surgery with small to medium-sized prolapse
• Spinal canal stenosis
• Instability of the spinal column
• Acute, severe lumbaralgia
• Moderate lumboischialgia
• Irritation of the sacroiliac joint
• Osteochondrosis
• Spondylolisthesis

• Allergic, inflammatory or injury-related skin changes (e.g. swelling, redness) of the body
areas to be supplied.
• Impaired circulation or lymphatic soft tissue swelling.
• Neurogenic disorders of the sensory system and skin trophism in the body area to be treated
(sensory disorders with or without skin damage)

If used appropriately and correctly, there are no general side effects, intolerances with long-
term effects or allergic reactions known to date.

The target group is all patients, taking into account indications and contraindications. Instruc-
tion and allocation of the correct size is carried out by medical professionals

• We recommend wearing a thin, tight-fitting T-shirt under the product.
•
APPLYING THE PAD:
Depending on the indication, two types of pelotte pads can be used,
lumbar or sacral. Attach the lumbar or sacral pad to the middle Velcro velour on the inside
of VERTEBRADYN® VARIO. With the lumbar pad (Fig.
A
), the wide end of the pad must always
point upwards. With the sacral pelotte pad (Fig.
B
) it is the other way round. Here, the breatha-
ble material is directed towards the body. Depending on the individual‘s condition, the pad
can be adjusted upwards or downwards. The patient‘s anatomy must be taken into account for
correct positioning.

PUTTING ON THE VERTEBRADYN
®
VARIO:
Place the brace around the body. Insert your
fingers into the loops on both sides of the VERTEBRADYN® VARIO closure, pull the brace apart
under tension and pull the closure forward evenly

• Pull your fingers out of the loops and close the Velcro closure of the VERTEBRADYN® VARIO
completely. When attaching the Velcro, make sure that the closure plates lie positively on top of
each other

• Pull the right and left pulling elements (pull straps) evenly with tension to the front as well as
slightly diagonally downwards

• VERTEBRADYN® VARIO should fit snugly with high compression. In this way, the combinati-
on of the stabilising elements in the lumbar region with the pad, the traction elements and the
abdominal support can achieve partial relief by lordosis of the spinal column. When fitting with
high compression, make sure that it is comfortable to wear.
• The front lower end of the VERTEBRADYN® VARIO should be flush with the thigh when seated
and should not cause pressure in the groin

• Tie the ends of the tension straps under tension to the lower ends of the closure plates

• The height of the attached traction element can be adjusted with a Velcro fastener and it is
completely removable (front side: with a Velcro mouth next to the closure plates, back side:
with Velcro).
• The anatomically pre-shaped spring steel rods can be individually adapted to the patient.
AC CES S orIES
• The BAUCHPLATTE FÜR RÜCKENORTHESEN can be ordered as an option for the product. It
can surround prominent abdominal structures over a large area and thus support the weight
of the abdomen (Art.no. 17428).
• Optionally, the VERLÄNGERUNGSTEIL RÜCKEN can be ordered with the product. It is at-
tached ventrally to the closure plates and serves as a closure extension for larger circumfe-
rences (Art.no. 17400)
