Move Strike
Water to MT
1.
Move the long hose (
Red
) from the top of the HLT
to the bottom of the MT. (see
Figure 2
)
2.
Transfer enough strike water to your mash tun. If
your strike water is too hot you can add cold water
If your strike water is too cold use the Mash Control
System (discussed in ‘Recirculating the Mash’ step
on page 25) heater to heat to desired strike temp.

When you reach your desired strike temp, turn off
the pump and add the grain.
4.
Stir the grain for a few minutes to remove any
dough balls (dry grains).
5.
Let the wort rest for 10-15 minutes.
