The rotary movement of the steering wheel is activated in the
steering box A
and transposed into the
mechanical movement of the
steering rod B
, which operates the
steering arms C
of the axles.
On the axles, there are
auxiliary steering cylinders D
mounted for power-assisted steering.
Axles 5 and 6 are not mechanically connected to axles 1, 2 and 3. Axles 5 and 6 are hydraulically
steered by means of a valve block and a
main steering cylinder E
.

Steering modes
The steering system of the truck has two steering modes (see

On-the-road mode;
•
Off-the-road mode.
32. Switch steering system on-the-road / off-the-road
on the control panel to switch the steering
system between
on-the-road mode
(steering wheel) and
off-the-road mode
(hand).
This may only be carried out when the vehicle is not moving.
