Connections
First, with the DC power supply cable disconnected
from the external power supply, connect the printer and
computer using a USB cable.
Then, with the external power supply turned off, connect
the DC power supply cable. Refer to the instructions for
use of connected devices.
WARNING
Using this unit for medical purposes
The connectors on this unit are not isolated.
Do not connect any device other than one which
conforms to IEC 60601-1 standards.
When an information technology device or AV device
that uses an alternating current is connected, current
leakage may result in an electric shock to the patient or
operator.
If use of such a device is unavoidable, isolate its power
supply by connecting an isolation transformer, or by
connecting an isolator between the connecting cables.
After implementing these measures, confirm that the
reduced risk now conforms to IEC 60601-1 standards.
Notes
• Insert the USB cable connector firmly so that it is fully
inserted.
• Firmly insert and turn the DC power supply connector
until it locks into place.
• The use of the supplied printer driver is not supported
via a network connection.
• Operation is not guaranteed for a USB connection
using a USB hub.
• Use a power supply with 12 V DC/8.2 A or higher
rating or 24 V DC/3.7 A or higher rating for the
external power supply.
• Always turn off the external power supply before
connecting or disconnecting the DC power supply
cable. Failing to turn off the external power supply
may cause a malfunction.

Installing the Printer Driver to the
Computer
When you use Windows XP/Windows Vista:
After connecting this unit to the computer, turn on this
unit. For installing, see the Install Guide of the supplied
CD-ROM and the Readme file.
When you use Windows 7/8:
Before connecting this unit to the computer, install the
supplied printer driver to the computer. For installing,
see the Install Guide contained on the supplied
CD-ROM and the Readme file.
