Digital TV Settings
(DTV Settings)
The “DTV Settings” setup enables you to take full
advantage of Digital TV Broadcasting services
such as favourites channels setting or to prevent
children’s viewing unsuitable channels and
programmes.

Press SYSTEM MENU while the recorder is
in stop mode.

Select “SETUP,” and press ENTER.

Select “DTV Settings,” and press ENTER.
The “DTV Settings” setup appears with the
following options.
Favourite
Sets the channels as a favourite in Favourite Lists.
See “Making your own Favourite List” (page 20).
Parental Lock
You can lock certain unsuitable channels for
children, or set an rate so that any programme
classed above that rate by the broadcaster is
restricted.
When you select the locked channel or limited TV
programme, you need to enter the password.

After step 3 above, select “Parental Lock” and
press ENTER.
The display for entering the password
appears.

Enter your four-digit password using the
number buttons, then select “OK” and press
ENTER.
• If you have not yet set a password, enter
“0000” (default). To set or change the
password, see page 44.
• If you forget your password, you will have
to reset it by selecting “Factory Setup” in
“Others” setup (page 45).
The Parental Lock menu appears.
Make the following settings.

Lock Channels

Select “Lock Channels,” and press ENTER.
All available TV channels are listed in the
display.
Press the red or green button to go to the
previous/next page.

Select the programme position you want to
lock, then press ENTER.
“ ” appears next to the locked programme
position.
• Press the blue button to view the list
showing only the locked channels. Press the
blue button again to display all the channels.
• To unlock the channels, select a locked
channel and press ENTER so that “ ”
disappears.
