Choosing the location
for the base phone
• Where you place the base phone affects the
reception quality of the handset.
Be sure to place the base phone:
– Away from television sets and other electronic
equipment
– Away from noise sources such as a window by a
street with heavy traffic
– Away from personal computers, microwave
ovens or other equipment that generates
magnetism.
• To protect the unit from damage, place the base
phone:
– Away from heat sources, such as radiators,
airducts and sunlight
– Away from excessive moisture, extremely low
temperature, dust, mechanical vibration or shock
– Away from an inclined or unstable place.
• If severe noise is heard, move the base phone to
another location.
• If the unit is used near a broadcasting facility or
radio programs interfere with the telephone
conversation quality, contact your nearest Sony
dealer.
• When using more than one cordless telephones,
– Do not connect both telephones to the same
telephone line. If you do, the phones may not
operate correctly.
Transmission range of
the handset
• The handset can be used within the range of
approximately 50 to 100 meters from the base
phone. However, operating conditions greatly
affect the range. When you operate the phone for
the first time, make sure that the handset is within
the transmission range.
When using more than one handset, you can talk
between handsets when the handsets are within
the range of approximately 25 to 50 meters from
the base phone.
• Make sure the base phone antenna points to the
ceiling.
• If the handset is too far from the base phone, it
may not be possible to make or receive calls. If
you hear an intermittent beep, move the handset
closer to the base phone. The call may be cut off
after approximately 15 seconds if the handset is
kept away from the base phone for too long.
