RAID configuration settings
are incorrect or wrongly
adjusted.
Check ‘DRIVE information’ using the 3ware disk manager utility.
Reconfigure HDD, if necessary.
HDD fault.
Replace the faulty HDD (see
“Media RAID HDD replacement” on page
).
If the fault persists, normal operation of the unit will have to be interrupted to enable further checks to be done.
RAID Controller Board fault. Confirm symptom by powering off the unit and then powering the unit
checking HDD status using the 3ware BIOS manager utility (see
“Checking RAID controller BIOS settings” on page 57
If RAID setting up problems are present, replace RAID Controller Card
(see
“RAID controller card replacement” on page 89

Backplane board fault.
Swap over HDDs by inserting HDD in another slot position.
Check HDD status.
If the fault symptom remains in the same slot position, replace
Backplane Board (see

).
RAID Controller Board fault. If fault persists, confirm symptom by powering off the unit and then
powering the unit checking HDD status using the 3ware BIOS
