5-1. Maintenance after Using the Unit under Special Environment

Check the following items after the unit has been used near the seacoast or in a dusty area.

1.

Carefully clean off sand or dust from the unit.

2.

Clean the video heads, upper and lower drums, and stationary heads.

3.

Clean the tape running surfaces (tape guides, capstan shaft, pinch roller, etc.).

4.

Clean the connector pins of the connector panel.

5.

Check that the unit operates normally (recording or playback, etc.) and does not produce noise or
malfunction.

If the unit has a trouble, contact your local Sony Sales Office/Service Center.

5-2. Cleaning

To keep the unit functioning optimally and to prolong the life of the unit and tape, perform maintenance
regularly.
