Basic Oper

ations

Using the on-screen keyboard

You can open the on-screen keyboard anytime you need to enter text or
numbers on your CLIE handheld. Note that you cannot enter Graffiti
characters while using the on-screen keyboard.

To use the on-screen keyboard:

1

Open any application (such as Memo Pad).

2

Tap any record, or tap “New.”

3

Tap “a” to open the alphabetic keyboard, or tap “1” to open

the numeric keyboard.

4

Tap the characters to enter text and numbers.

Note

The on-screen keyboard also includes a dialog box for international characters. You
can switch among the three dialog boxes at any time to enter the exact text you need.

After you have finished, tap “Done” to close the on-screen
keyboard and place the text in the record.
