6. Before tightening the nuts, check and be sure the
pump bottom is 1” above the “ON” water level of the
primary sump pump. Make sure the pumps and
switches do not interfere with each other.
7. Connect the discharge piping from the backup
pump’s check valve to the water disposal area. The
back-up pump’s discharge pipe may be run into the
primary pump discharge pipe. If so, install a check
valve between the primary pump and the back-up
pump connection to prevent reverse flow from the
back-up pump into the primary sump pump. Refer to
Figure 1.
NOTICE:
The discharge pipe of the primary sump
pump is filled with water. Drain the water from the
discharge pipe assembly. Keep the work area dry.
Be prepared for water to leak from the coupling or
piping when disassembling or cutting the discharge
pipe. Protect system components, tools and supplies
from getting wet. Dry any work areas that get wet.
8. Tape or cable tie the float switch cord to the the
Ace-In-The-Hole power cord.
NOTICE:
Do not adjust the tether length on the float
switch.
9. Place the battery box within 7’ of the sump and with-
in 9’ of the electrical outlet. Do not store the battery
box on the floor.
10. Open the battery box and lower the battery into it.
11. Your battery should have one of the two types of ter-
minals as illustrated in Figure 3. Connect the power
wires to the battery.
12. Close and lock the Battery Box. Be sure all of the
wires are tucked inside of the box to prevent them
from being pinched.
13. Record the installation date on the label of the
Battery Box.
