All relevant sections of the log book must be
filled in at the time of installation and the-
reafter service information on the back
page of the log book. Commissioning of the
boiler is not complete until the log book is fil-
led in.
Before commissioning the appliance, the
whole gas installation including the meter
MUST be purged and tested for gas sound-
ness in accordance with BS6891.
IMPORTANT: open all doors and windows,
extinguish naked lights and DO NOT SMOKE
whilst purging the gas line. Before com-
mencing the commissioning procedure,
ensure that the gas service cock is turned
on, the electricity supply is isolated and that
the DHW and CH isolation valves are in the
closed position.
7.1 Filling
Open CH flow and return valves
Loosen both auto air vent caps (on each
pump)
Open both non-return valves (one on each
pump)
Open all radiator valves and system air
vents
Fill the system using the filling loop
Check for water soundness
Completely drain the boiler and system
Thoroughly flush the system and refill,
adding inhibitor
Close both non-return valves (one on each
pump)
Open the DHW isolation valve and fill the
cylinder
Open a hot tap to clear the air from DHW
pipe work
Check for water soundness
7.2 Commissioning
Turn the rotary switch to the summer posi-
tion
Check gas pressures as described in 5.2
Allow cylinder to achieve temperature
7.3 Setting CH Input
Turn the rotary switch to the winter position
Allow the boiler to run for at least 5 minutes
and check burner pressure as described in
5.3, adjust if required
7.4 Ignition Gas Pressure
(See fig 17.10)
Adjust trimmer to vary the burner pressure
at ignition
According to type of gas with which the boi-
ler is equipped, the trimmer must be regu-
lated so as to obtain a pressure of approx 3
mbar at the burner for methane and 7
mbar for butane and propane.
This adjustment can be made in the first 10
seconds following ignition.
After setting the ignition pressure, confirm
that CH pressure is unchanged.
7.5 Setting DHW Flow Rate
No restrictor is fitted to the boiler.
Adjustment of flow rate (if required) can be
achieved by partial closure of DHW supply
cock.
To achieve continuous flow at 35° above
incoming water temperature, set flow rate
at 14.5 l/min
For 30° set at 15.6 l/min.
7.6 Final Checks
Check for gas soundness
Check for water soundness
Advise user of controls i.e. Logica/Time
Clock
Complete Benchmark Booklet
Ensure user instructions are left with custo-
mer
Stress importance of annual checks by a
registered engineer
