TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION AND OPERATING MANUAL ST131 <PIRANHA II> and ST131N
53
For detection bugging devices, galvanically connected to the wire lines, use the option «Non-
linear junction detector» (only for ST131N).
Powering some types of Bugging devices is done by the same lines, which are used for
intercepted data transfer. For compulsory activation of such kind of devices "ST131.OV" Biasing Module
should be used.
Data transfer from Bugging devices is possible both in acoustic frequency range and with
transfer on carrier frequency. In first case “WIRE 0.3-15 KHz” channel is used, in second-“WIRE 0.01-
30 MHz” and “WIRE 30-3000 MHz”.
4.2.4 OPERATION IN THE “WIRE 0.3–15 KHz” CHANNEL
At initial selection of this channel the screen information will correspond to the FULL RANGE
mode.
Modes "BAND" and "DEMODULATION" in this channel are inactive.
In this range, a check is sound signals in lines tested.
Separately considered:
wired telephone with telephone line
security and firefighter alarm systems with sensors.
Wired telephone with telephone line
Telephone and telephone lines are the most
common places for Bugging devices Installation.
Telephone line can be used directly for acoustic data
transfer, powerline and antenna for radio
transmitting devices.
Receivers of acoustic data can be both
microphone of telephone and specially installed
microphone.
In dual wire telephone line «3-4» pair of RJ-
11 is used. But, it should be controlled (for example
visually), that in connected to the telephone line only
one pair is used. If other pairs are detected, the
should be checked for both analog and digital signal.
Both, «1-2», 3-6», «7-8» and other pair combinations
should be checked.
For pair check automation of RJ-45 use additional features of submode "SCALE” on that channel.
For that option press
and
.
There are will be image on the display (fig.52) corresponding to automatic sequential signal level
control on all possible pairs of RJ-45 or RJ-11. Line numbering of socket pins can be seen on fig.51.
«4-
5» pair of RJ-45 is corresponding to «3-4» pair of RJ-11. Sound control is provided.
