ANNEX 1
Selection of the options of signal averaging.
In the context of search activities it can be divided into two use tasks of detectors: signal
detection and the source location.
For the first task, in the beginning of the search, the peak-hold detector (“PEAK”) is selected. It provides
detection of signal irrespective of its timing parameters. Reset of the stored results is made by pressing
the
button of digital keyboard.
In the future, if signal analysis required, the choice of the detector is determined based on the
following assumptions:
1 Linear averaging should be used for analyzing stationary signals (that indicated as AVER x8, x16,
x32, x64).
2 Peak-hold averaging with linear reduction (quasi-peak detector) is used for non-stationary signals
(that indicated as PEAK x8, x16, x32). When averaging with linear reduction, there is the coefficient
towards reduction. It is possible to use to emphasize non-random signals.
