2.4 Configuration
Configuring the
Software
To allow the installed software to address the CP 5412 (A2), you must
configure the CP 5412 (A2). Start SINEC Setup (see Chapter 3) and
follow the steps outlined below:
In the hardware selection list (lower selection list) select an entry for
the CP type “CP 5412 (A2)”.
Call the configuration program using the menu item
“Modify Configured CP”.
Make the settings you require. When you make the settings, keep in
mind the instructions in the sections I/O Range, Interrupt and Dual-Port
RAM Address Area in chapter 1.
Complete the configuration program and save your configuration.
Exit SINEC Setup.
Starting the Driver
When you reboot your system, the protocols you have activated are
started automatically.
To achieve this, the installation program enters the following call in the
AUTOEXEC.BAT file unless this call already exists in the file:
call x:\sinec\sinecini.bat
The configuration program extends the initialization batch file
x:\sinec\sinecini.bat by adding a call to start the CP 5412 (A2) with the
protocols you have selected.
The letter x stands for the drive on which you installed the product PG-
5412/MS-DOS, Windows.
The configuration program proposes the default device name
CP_L2_x: - x is the number of the CP = 1, 2, ...
If you use the DP programming interface, this default must not
be modified since the DP libraries use this ID as standard.
CP_L2_x must be allocated to the CP 5412 (A2) (PROFIBUS).
For further information about the configuration, use the Help function
of the selected configuration program.
