1.4.2 Keypad Operations

The front panel has a 2-line, 20-character vacuum florescent display, a 25-key keypad, and a

beeper. Menus are navigated with the arrow keys (







and



), the

Enter

Cancel

and

Exit

keys. Text and numbers can easily be entered using the cell phone style number/letter keys.

There are also special function keys for quick access to VIU settings and information (see

Figure 1-4).

1.4.3 Front Panel Default Display

The VIU default display shows the date and time on the first line of the display and system

information on the second line. Important messages will also be displayed here.

Use the left (



) and right (



) arrow keys to scroll through the system information on the second

line of the display or wait for the information to scroll automatically.

NOTE

If there is no activity on the front panel keypad for five minutes, it will

automatically return to this default display.
