exceed 0.2%. To terminate the test, press the START-STOP button, after which the
“Tests sequence” dialogue menu will be displayed again.
4.4.3.9. Impedance
This parameter can take values “Off”, “Small signal” and “Large signal”. The parameter
value can be changed using the LEFT and RIGHT arrows. The frequency at which
impedance will be measured is defined by the distortion parameter (see 4.4.3.8). When
the distortion parameter equals “Off” or “On”, measurement is conducted at the
frequency specified by the geophone manufacturer. The results of large signal
measurement are less susceptible to noise and more reliable. Small signal
measurement can be useful to reveal “jamming” of the geophone moving system. If the
geophone coil is locked, the impedance value drops down to the DC coil resistance.
Pressing the START-STOP button can start continuous performance of the test group
including the resistance test, the impedance test and the leakage test, without writing
results into memory. Tests are conducted sequentially, one after another, in a ring. The
results of
enabled tests only
are displayed (see Fig. 11). The impedance
measurement results are not checked for admissibility, since impedance is not specified
by manufacturers. To terminate the test, press the START-STOP button, after which the
“Tests sequence” dialogue menu will be displayed again.
4.4.4.
Setup menu… - Operation conditions
This dialogue menu is used to set up additional parameters which have influence on
performance of tests.
ATTENTION! A change in settings is valid only until the Tester is switched
off. To save changes, execute the “Main menu” −> “2 Setup menu…” −>
“8 Save settings” sequence.
4.4.4.1. Autoincrement of string number
This parameter can take values “Off” and “On”. The parameter value can be changed
using the LEFT and RIGHT arrows.
For more information, please refer to “4.4.2.1. String number” and “4.5 Testing
geophone strings”.
4.4.4.2. Continue test with reject
This parameter can take the “Off” and “On” values. The parameter value can be
changed using the LEFT and RIGHT arrows.
This parameter determines whether automatic execution of the predefined sequence of
tests should be continued, if a regular test has demonstrated any result beyond the
permissible limits. With the “Off” value of parameter, testing will be terminated and test
results will not be written into memory.
For more information, please refer to “4.5. Testing geophone strings”.
4.4.4.3. Save test data with reject
This parameter can take the “Off” and “On” values. The parameter value can be
changed using the LEFT and RIGHT arrows.
