The program requests the Tester for the number of entries available in its memory (7 in
this case), reads the data from the Tester and saves them on the disk. To close the
program window, press any key.
In general, two files are created on the disk, which are called the tester file and the
geophone file by convention. The tester file contains self-checking results of the Tester,
and the geophone file — test results of geophone strings. The program performs the
following procedure for each of these files:
the existence of a file named g_yymmdd.txt for the geophone file and a file named
t_yymmdd.txt for the tester file is checked. Here, yymmdd means the year, month
and date corresponding to the earliest read entries of each type;
if a relevant file is already exists, the new data are added to its end, otherwise, a
new file will be created on the disk.
The files have a text format accessible for any text editor. The field header line is written
at the beginning of each file, after which data lines follow, one line per each geophone
string (or one line per each self-diagnostics entry). Fields in a line are separated by the
‘;’ character (so called text format CSV), so data from the files can be easily imported to
spreadsheet processors such as MS Excel or OpenOffice.org Calc.
A file can be imported to OpenOffice.org Calc in the following way:
click “File – Open…” in the program menu;
select the file type (“Files of type” = “Text CSV”) in the appeared dialogue box:
select the desired file from the list and click “Open”;
in the appeared box click the upper left corner of the table in the preview box and
select “Separator parameters – Separated – Semicolon”, “Column type – English
USA”:
