D. RINGS BEFORE ANSWER (STEP 29)
Program the number of rings before the Crown Jewel automatically answers your telephone. This
feature would be used for programming and relay activation from a remote telephone. This entry can
be set from 1 to 15 rings.
Factory Setting : 5
Format 29 + number of rings + “#”
•
The number of rings can be up to 2 digits long; it can be from 1 to 15.
Example 29 + 7 + #
(sets the unit to answer after 7 rings).
NOTE If you have an answering machine attached to the same telephone line as the unit, make
sure you set the Crown Jewel ring count to a large enough number so that it does not
interfere with the operation of the answering machine. The Crown Jewel unit can be
remotely programmed even if the answering machine answers the line first.
E. OVERRIDING TELEPHONE COMPANY ANSWERING SERVICE (STEP 43)
You can override the answering service by dialing the line attached to your unit, letting the phone ring
once or twice only, then hanging up. After a few seconds, dial the same number again. The Crown
Jewel will answer the second call immediately, if it senses the incoming ring within the specified
override delay time.
Factory Setting: 20
Format 43 + delay time in s “#”

The delay time in seconds may be no longer than 2 digits.
Example 43 + 15 + #
(sets the unit to answer a second call within 15 seconds).
F. RESETTING THE UNIT (STEP 32)
You can reset the unit without disconnecting the power.
Format 32 + “#”
NOTE Once you press the “#” key, the unit will beep once, reset the unit, exit out of the
programming mode, and beep 4 times following the reset.
