SECURITY FEATURES
A. CHANGING THE UNIT PASSWORD (STEP 01)
Factory Setting: 000000
Format 01 + pa “#”
•
The password must be 6 digits long.
Example 01 + #
(sets the password to 123456).
IMPORTANT NOTE
•
After you have changed the password, be sure you verify the new password. See Section B
(Step 02)
•
If you typed the password incorrectly or you forget the password, you can reset the Crown Jewel to
the factory defaults using programming step 31. See Part 11, Section B.
B. VERIFYING THE UNIT PASSWORD (STEP 02)
Use this programming step to verify the new password you entered in step 01 (see Section A above).
Format 02 + pa “#”

The password must be 6 digits long.
•
If the unit responds with two beeps, the number that you entered matches the password
you programmed in step 01.
Example 02 + #
(verifies that 123456 is the password).
IMPORTANT NOTE
•
If the unit responds with an error tone, do not exit programming . The number that you entered
does not match the password. Repeat steps 01 and 02 until you are certain that the password is
what you want.

If you typed the password incorrectly or you forget the password, you can reset the Crown Jewel to
the factory defaults using programming step 31. See Part 11, Section B.
C. ENABLING/DISABLING ALARM CALL (STEP 21)
Programs the unit to make an alarm call when alarm conditions occur.
Factory Setting: Disabled
Format 21 + alarm call mode + “#”
•
The alarm call mode is one digit long:
0 = Disables the alarm call feature
1 = The unit will generate an alarm call upon a door breach
2 = The unit will generate an alarm call upon a keypad “strike out”.
3 = The unit will generate an alarm call upon a door breach or a keypad “strike out”.
Example 21 + 3 + #
(sets the unit to generate an alarm call upon a door breach or a keypad “strike out”).
NOTES 1. If the alarm call feature is enabled, the destination of the call is determined by the
telephone number programmed in step 22 (see Section D below).
2. A door breach assumes that the status input is being used to monitor the closed position
of the main gate.
