RADIOMODEM OPERATING MODE
This mode of operation is normally used for the exchange of data between different locations. In the same
network the presence of a master unit as well as of one or more slave units is expected. If the power save feature
is not used, each unit can receive data via the serial port RS485 (except during radio communications) up to a
maximum of 1024 bytes.
When the reception of the data is completed (i.e. when 1024 bytes are received or when the "Time DTX" timer
is expired), the radio modem send the packet to the target unit. It is possible to include in the radio path up to 8
digipeater to increase the coverage distance. If the Power Save feature is used, the logic behaviour is as follows:
the Master unit can always receive characters from the serial line (except during radio communications). The
slave units can receive characters from the serial line only during the time interval referred to as "PwSava" i.e.
the period in which a slave unit remains active after the reception of a radio packet.
In the configurator, when the radiomodem mode is selected, an additional page called "Link Test" is available.
Refer to the relevant page of this manual for details.
