8.5.12 Calibration of the Level Platform
This procedure corrects the position of the level platform cage so that it is “level” at zero degrees elevation
and levels the cage in the cross-level direction.
This procedure adjusts the N4--- and N5--- values. If a finer correction is desired, manually enter the
corrections. See section 8.5.10, page 153 and section 8.5.11, page 155.
Tools:
Bubble Level.
Part Location:
The level platform is located on the right side of the cross-level beam for elevation adjustment. See
drawing 70909012, page 45, and Figure 8-7B, page 125.
Procedure:
1.
Place the bubble level on the top of the level platform cage pointing toward the dish.
2.
The following commands are entered at the computer to tip the level platform up or down until the
bubble reads level for elevation correction.
3.
Note:
The antenna must not be in use for tracking a satellite.
