9. Close the drain valve. Turn the drain valve knob clockwise as far as possible.

10. Set the flow rate to 1 mL/min to 3 mL/min.

pump

Pumping starts, and the pump indicator illuminates.

12. Wait a couple of minutes, and then press

pump

again.

Pumping stops and the pump indicator goes out.

13. Connect the tubing to the autosampler outlet.

14. Press

pump

again to restart pumping.

The mobile phase in the flow line downstream of the manual injector is replaced.

Note:

Make sure that the flow rate is set to a value that maintains the pressure at a setting that is lower

than the maximum column pressure.

Precautions when Replacing the Mobile Phase

Replace a Liquid with a Non-Miscible Solvent

Required Materials

• Intermediate rinse solution (such as isopropanol)

Note:

Do not use water if the mobile phase is not miscible with water.
